The IP Multicast II course provides students with in-depth knowledge PIM Sparse-Mode as a redundant Multicast routing protocol. This curriculum covers theory explanation of PIM-SM on Cisco IOS Routers and hands-on exercises that provide students with the skills needed to configure and implement Multicast on networks.

  • To provide the student with an in-depth understanding of how PIM-SM works as the chosen Multicast routing protocol, explaining the advantages over Dense-Mode PIM.
  • Explain all the stages in a successfully implemented PIM-SM network
  • Identify and describe the best practice in providing a redundant Multicast Network
  • Configure and implement PIM-SM with redundancy in the Lab.
